This blog is about chemistry. At least most of the time. It used to be only about general chemistry, and I had other blogs (Surface-Enhanced Scattered Thoughts and Chemical Potential) that were about my research activities and physical chemistry. I’ve decided to break those barriers down, and put it all here, since this blog averaged the most readers. So, to all three of you, here it all is!
In case you missed it before, or are new to this blog, I am a professor at Linfield College, a private “comprehensive” four-year college in sunny McMinnville Oregon. I teach a wide variety of courses (General Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Instrumental Analysis, Writing in Chemistry, ….), do research (all based on Surface-Enhanced Raman Scattering, or SERS), brew beer, and play volleyball. Oh yeah, I try to go camping a lot, and once and a while post something here.
I hope you find Generally Chemistry fun, informative, and worth a little bit of your time. The opinions expressed here are my own, and not those of Linfield College.
